Repton Hammer Replica Mjölnir, Mjolnir, Thors Hammer, Authentic Viking, Necklace
The Repton Hammer, so called because it was found at Repton, was found buried with its owner. Archaeologists suggest that the owner was probably part of the Great Heathen army who camped at Repton over the winter of 874, having previoisly conquered Northumbria and Mercia. It was found still hanging around it's owners neck, complete with two glass beads.
We present to you this close modern replica of the hammer found at the dig during excavations at Repton, a village and civil parish in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England, located on the edge of the River Trent floodplain.
This piece is suitable for daily wear or for re-enactment use. The hammer is hand cast as a close match to the original find in lead free pewter by our Scottish supplier and we have strung it on a 24" leather cord with glass beads chosen to closely match the ones found on the necklace during the Repton dig. This necklace features a push lock black clasp and is supplied to you in a gift box.
