Freyja's Love Rose Quartz spinning Moon Pendant, Norse Pagan, Viking Necklace
Freyja's Love spinning moon pendant with A grade rose quartz cabachon and rosary style chain.
There are a number of tales of cats mentioned in Scandinavian folklore. The Norse god Freya (Freyja) drove a chariot pulled by two cats.
These are referred to in the Prose Edda as ‘gib-cats’. The cats were a gift from Thor, and she used them to travel to the funeral of Baldur, her estranged son.
The cat was Freya’s sacred animal and she would reportedly bless those who were kind to them. Often if a wedding coincided with fine weather, the bride was said to have ‘fed the cat well’.
A gemstone closely linked with Freyja is rose quartz. With her being the norse goddess of love, sex and fertility amongst many other things and this stone being one that is said to bring love and romance it stands to reason that those who believe in the healing properties of gemstones would link this stone to this beautiful goddess.
This piece is presented on a silver plated spinning moon pendant and displays a depiction of Freyja wearing her falcon wings cloak showing affection to her beloved Bygul and Trjegul and on the rearside is a cabachon of A grade stunning subtle pink rose quartz.
